a sewing project made for the BFA Graduate Exhibiton

t'was quite ambitious
i'd never sewn a garment before
i made all my own patterns
(i got lessons from the talented Amanda Fauteux)
i dyed, silk screened and embroidered the textiles by hand
there was a common theme:
every garment featured facts pertaining to the make poverty history campaign and the millennium development goals set forth by the united nations lithographed inside pockets, and on labels.

dresses - hand dyed (with coffee and rit), embroidered and silkscreened fronts, lithographed labels
clutch purses - ink jet printed decoration, lithographed labels, ribbons and buttons
neckties - silkscreened and hand sewn (with a little help from my friends)
